A Private Pilot certificate is much like a driver’s license. Once licensed as a Private Pilot, you are able to fly with family and friends to new and exciting destinations. Whether it is a short trip for lunch or a family vacation, you will discover the freedom of being a Private Pilot.
An introductory lesson is the first step. This flight will take approximately 60 minutes and will be unlike anything you’ve experienced before. During the flight, you will be able to take the controls and get a feel for flying. After the completion of your introductory flight lesson, you will be ready to continue with regular flight training.

Flying is learned step by step and is not as difficult as you may think. If you are willing to invest
some time and effort you will learn how to fly.

The amount of flight training required varies from student to student. The national average
varies between 60-70 hours. This includes time spent flying with an instructor (dual instruction)
and time spent flying by yourself (solo). It is recommended that you fly at least 2 times per
week. At this rate it is possible to earn your Private Pilot license in 5-6 months. The most
efficient way to shorten this time, and therefore reduce the cost, is to fly as frequently as
possible.

Yes, Fly There has developed a successful flight training syllabus used to complement the
ground school you will use to pass your written exam. The syllabus will test your understanding
of concepts through quizzes and provides additional resources to help you understand how the
information will be applied in the real world.

The duration of each lesson depends on your schedule and how much time you can devote. On
average, you can expect to spend 30 minutes with a preflight and post flight briefing, as well as
approximately 90 minutes in the airplane. These times can change depending on the lesson.
When you schedule a lesson, you should plan to be at Fly There for about 2.5 hours.

Yes. Fly There pays for a non-subrogation policy on behalf of our students and renters to offer
an additional level of protection for our pilots. However, “Non-owned” insurance offers
protection for any damage that occurs outside of the airplane as well as covering the deductible
